ENTRY FEES AND COMMISSION CHARGES - Entry
Fees have been changed to reflect the ease of hanging of
different sizes of exhibits. Two years ago we introduced
a facility for purchasers to pay by credit or debit card as fewer
people carry cheques or large amounts of cash. This proved popular
and made sales easier. However payment by either card attracts a
charge of 4% and we have been obliged to increase the commission
charge to 25% to cover this.
JUDGES - We are fortunate that Jenny
Halstead and Julian Mitchell have agreed to judge the Exhibition
again and that Terry Edmund has agreed to join them.

Julian Mitchell
Julian was born in Reading and studied at Wolverhampton
Polytechnic and Heatherey's School of Art in Chelsea. He is a fan
of classical painting and looks to find a way of making art that is
at once modern, but informed by the classical tradition, and
accessible to the ordinary viewer.
He says he wants his paintings to haunt the viewer. 'I recognise
that my aims are paradoxical, I want on the one hand to create an
enigma but I want this experience to be clearly understandable to
viewers however small or great their knowledge of painting'.
Terry Edmund
In The 60's and early 70's Terry Edmund studied at the
Colchester School of Art, the Wolverhamton Polytechnic, Slade
Schoolf of Art and Univeristy College London. before becoming a
lecturer at the Chelsea School of fine art and Bulmershe College.
He then went on to become a senior lecturer at the University of
Reading for 20 years and continues as a visiting lecturer
there.
He has had many exhibitions during this time in the UK, USA and
Europe and among his awards is the post gtraduate painting prize at
the Tate.
He lives close to Reading in Swallowfield.
